It is with a sad heart that I must report the passing of Skip Perry,
W6LYR, on Saturday, September 15, 2012.
Skip and I first met back in our early college days, and were roommates
until we each started our own families. We remained best friends.
Skip was a longtime employee of SCE, and a member of Cactus since the
mid-80s.
Skip Perry, our colleague
and friend, passed away today after suffering a severe stroke on
Thursday, August 30th.
Skip joined Southern California Edison, as a Telecommunications Engineer
on August 15, 1983 and provided 29 years of faithful and dedicated
service; he possessed a great passion for his work with
telecommunications and the electric grid.
I will always remember Skip as the person who truly loved what he did.
But more importantly, he loved to help and share his knowledge with
those around him. His contributions to our organization, and SCE, are
endless. However, it is the lives he touched throughout his career which
define his legacy.
Skip is survived by his wife Judy, son A.J., and daughter Beth.
Rest in peace Skip, you will be greatly missed.
